Our Story

Founded on a Love of Music & Celebration

Music For The Moment began with a simple idea: every couple deserves live music that feels as personal as their love story. Founded by violinist Karen Kamp, our ensemble has grown into one of the most sought-after string groups in the tri-state area — trusted by hundreds of couples to set the tone for their most important day.

Karen’s career has taken her from the Albany Symphony Orchestra to Carnegie Hall, from Broadway tours alongside Luciano Pavarotti and Natalie Cole to intimate garden ceremonies in the New Jersey countryside. That range — the grand and the personal — is at the heart of everything we do.

We celebrate diversity and inclusion, working with couples of all faiths and orientations. Your day, your way — always.

She earned a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Ithaca College and played with the Albany Symphony Orchestra for five years. While living in St. Louis, Karen led the Canterbury String Quartet, performing at venues including the Old Courthouse for special programs, weddings, and events. She freelanced extensively, playing for ballet companies, symphonies, and shows alongside performers including Luciano Pavarotti, Natalie Cole, The Moody Blues, and Rod Stewart. Since returning to New Jersey, Karen has performed at NJPAC, Paper Mill Playhouse, Mayo Performing Arts Center, Count Basie Theater, PNC Arts Center, and Carnegie Hall.
